We’re 19 days in…do you know what the color of the year is?? For all you color lovers that have been living under a rock, the new “Pantone Color of the Year” is HONEYSUCKLE!
Me, personally, I love love love turquoise so I’m sad that my favorite shade of bluish-green has sailed away with 2010, but the show must go on!
I checked out the Pantone site and they had a good description of the color and the emotions it’s thought to stir.
Check it out.
Honeysuckle– A Color for All Seasons. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it. Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.
Wow. Now that’s a powerful color with a lot of responsibility!
How will you incorporate honeysuckle this year?
Here’s some tips from Pantone to incorporate the new “it” color into your home decor. I’ll be adding a pillow or 2 myself.
Honeysuckle is upbeat and dynamic when used on large areas like the entry area of a house or an apartment. It is an appetite and conversation stimulant when used on the dining room walls. In the kitchen, it adds a fun touch on the table in placemats and other linens (patterned or solid), colored glassware, candles and small appliances. Honeysuckle is a great color to cover up shabby kitchen cabinets, or, if that’s too much of a color statement for you, try repainting knobs and drawer pulls. But be warned – once you try this arresting shade, it can become addictive.
Yay! Honeysuckle!!! I absolutely love it! I am ready to paint my whole house this awesome color, but my hubby might object ;)! It is a brave color that matches my brave tattoo! I want to start by just picking up some of the flowers for my home and then maybe some artwork with some honeysuckle…I feel the addiction coming on!
AWESOME! Send me some pictures and I’ll post them =)
1) i just wanted to say hi
2) how do i add honeysuckle if room is mostly blue (i need to add some new colors and have no idea where to start)
What’s blue? Carpet? Sofa? Accessories? Walls painted blue?
