Welcome to Color Vision, the blog!
A little about me: I love interior decorating, shopping for decorative accessories, painting, coming up with unique ways to use every day things, writing, traveling, day dreaming and of course….COLOR!
I’m in the process of redecorating some of the rooms in my home. Yep, it’s about that time. Ya know….where you’re tired of looking at the same ol things in the same ol places? I’m about half way through the process. I’ll definitely upload pics as soon as I’m finished! Super excited!
Here’s a sneak peek of what I’ve been working on so far…
Fresh Seat Covers for Dining Room
I used to have these chairs covered with black vinyl. I wanted something different; fresher and brighter looking. I found this fabric at Haberman’s (http://habermanfabrics.com/) in Royal Oak, MI. I looked around the store and saw a couple of patterns that I liked, but decided I’d take a look around at some other fabric stores before I made my final choice. As I was walking past the window, heading back to my car, I spotted this fabric and all but ran back inside…had to have it!! ~$47 bucks a yard, but I only needed about a yard and 1/2. It was TOTALLY worth it and of course less expensive than buying new chairs.
Re-covering chairs is easy. All you need is a tool to remove the old cushion, the back side of a hammer to remove the nails and a staple gun; which you can pick up at your nearest Home Depot, Lowes etc. Remember to pull the fabric tight so that it’s smooth and…voila! You’ve created a whole new look to your dining room. Don’t be intimidated. I did these while chit chatting with a girl friend one evening- meaning it’s really simple.

New Desk for Office
So, I’m really embarrassed to say that my old desk was…well…old. I’ve had it since I started college…trust me it’s on its last leg-literally. So when I saw this desk at Ikea (http://www.ikea.com/) I knew it was perfect! I fell in love (hee hee) with it instantly.
Assembling the legs was easy peasy. The hard part is lifting the glass top; you’ll need help.
Love this desk?
New Rug for Living Room
If you’ve been in the market for an 8×10 area rug then you know how expensive they can be. I generally like to scout around on the web and visit a Home Goods or two. I found this one at Overstock.com http://www.overstock.com/. This rug incorporates all of the colors I already have in my living room so when I came across it I was like “ding ding ding…we have a winner!” I received it a few days after I ordered it and I’ve been enjoying it ever since.
