What a fun trip!
I was actually born in Spain, Madrid to be exact, and would have LOVED to visit there as well, but our schedule didn’t allow for it. Next time though! Normally, I’m embarrassed to speak spanish (I know. I’m actually embarrassed about being embarrassed). I’m usually overly concerned that I’ll say the wrong thing and use the wrong verb, but you’ll be happy to know that your girl spoke lots-o-spanish! I have to say I was kindof proud of myself.
I went with my girl, Starla and we had a blast! We stayed at Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel. HIGHLY recommend it. We were right on the marina and close to all the action. Tons of site seeing and I do mean TONS, delicious meals, shopping…so much to see and do. I took so many photos so it was hard to decide which ones to post. Hope you enjoy these!
Sidenote: You can’t start an 11+ hr voyage without first taking a “selfie” in the airport bathroom. Well, you could…but it just wouldn’t be right ; )
These guys saw me taking pics and wanted in on the action
Me being a total tourist. “Street Art” at La Rambla
(lovin’ her fringy sandal boots!)
So many cute stores at Maremagnum and the view was amazing
Dinner at Salamanca
Sagrada Familia. Work of the famous Spanish architech, Antoni Gaudi. It is not expected to be completed until 2026. A must see!
We caught the travel bug! Where to next?
